(CNN) -- A gas leak sparked an explosion that ripped through a building in the central Massachusetts city of Springfield on Friday, police said. Springfield police Capt. Richard Randolph said there was a gas leak and blast at a downtown building. He did not have any details on injuries, but Capt. William Collins, also with the Springfield Police Department, told CNN affiliate WWLP that there were a number of injuries. Aerial video shot Friday showed first responders' vehicles positioned around the site in Springfield, as well as rubble littering the streets. CNN's Dave Alsup |
